Goodbye 2023 - Celebrating Achievements, Expressing Gratitude and Looking Ahead to an Exciting 2024!

20 Dec 2023

Dear Members,

As we embrace the festive spirit of Christmas and approach the dawn of a new year, I extend warm wishes to you all for a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year. May the camaraderie of cricket continue to bind us together in the upcoming year.

Let's commemorate our collective accomplishments and express gratitude to those who have made significant contributions:

On the Playing Field:

Our captains exhibited exceptional performance, and though promotion may have eluded us, our determination remains steadfast.

A hearty welcome to the new members who have injected fresh enthusiasm into our cricket family.

Applause to Ashish Tyagi for an outstanding achievement—64 wickets, fortifying our team's success.

Anuraag Singh, our first-team captain, etched his name in history with over 1205 runs, setting a high standard for all of us.

Embracing T20 cricket, we added approximately 15 plus thrilling games on Wednesdays/Fridays, providing more opportunities for exciting matchups and skill development.

Off the Field:

Indoor Nets Commencement: Save the date—indoor nets will kick off on January 21, 2024. Prepare to refine your skills and gear up for upcoming challenges.

Streamlined Finances: A special thanks to Anis Kasmani for overseeing our cash flow and introducing SumUp for card payments, enhancing the smoothness of transactions.

Behind-the-Scenes Heroes: Heartfelt appreciation to Cletus Nathanielsz for his exceptional hard work and Dhiran Vekaria for managing communications and paperwork as our dedicated secretary.

Club-wide Appreciation:

To each and every club member, I express gratitude for your support and energy, which has been the driving force behind our achievements.

Looking Ahead to 2024:

Today, I am excited to share my vision for our club's future. In the coming year, let's:

Increase the number of active members, nurturing a vibrant cricket community.

Collaborate with key committee members to explore utilizing our facilities for youth training, investing in the future of cricket.

Transform our club into a place where family and friends would want to spend every single weekend, creating lasting memories both on and off the field.

Best wishes for the holiday season and a Happy New Year to each and every one of you. May 2024 bring us more memorable moments on the field and off, and may the spirit of cricket continue to unite and inspire us all.

Best Regards,
Johnny Maraj
