Match report Ealing 3 Bridges seal a narrow victory against United Sports CC after a nerve-shredding finish.
Anis (43) and Kalyan (41) added a 85 run partnership for the 4th wicket after the top 3 batsmen were dismissed with only 35 runs on the scoreboard. Amandeep Singh added 32 n.o at the bottom of the scorecard which helped the team to set a target of 206 for the opposition.
USCC never looked on course for victory as the top four were dismissed cheaply by 3 Bridges bowler for less than 20 runs. Kalyan led from the front and took 3/18. USCC quickly changed the strategy to slow death draw . Opposition captain Naresh Patel and tailender Himanshu stayed on the crease for close to 35 overs. They stayed successful in changing the outcome of the game to a draw as it went down to the wire and 3 Bridges were required to take 4 more wickets in 13 overs. However, pair of Amandeep Singh and Mohammed Popal again brought 3 bridges in front by taking 5 wickets between themselves. USCC were eventually bowled out for 103 in 50.3 overs. Mohammed Popal ended with figures of 3/14 and Amandeep took 2/6 .
This win awarded 3 Bridges with 10 points and set them in the right direction towards winning the 3rd division league.
